Pázmány Péter Catholic University is Partner in 5 CEEPUS Networks:

AT-0037-20-2425 - Slavic Philology and Its Cultural Contexts

As the network is focused on Slavic Philology, improvement of philological and linguistic competency and language skills through academic instruction as well as the exchange of theoretical and methodological approaches to language learning and teaching are emphasized in equal measures. One of the network’s main objectives is to facilitate cooperation between the participating Central, Eastern and Southeastern European institutions by providing shared environments for rigorous philological education, thereby creating opportunities for bidirectional exchange of knowledge and cultural competencies. Besides the emphasis on the improvement of language skills and the enrichment of philological knowledge, a key factor in this network is the exchange of cultural knowledge, which is greatly supported by the immersive environment provided by the hosting country and institution.

HU-0809-12-2425 - FISH (French, Italian, SpanisH) - Romance Languages and Cultures - Strategies of Communication and Culture Transfer in Central Europe

The theme and the activities of the network are unique; they promote the cultural transfer of European languages that extends beyond the boundaries of Europe. The participating universities cooperate professionally, and they have a very good personal relationship with each other. The historical, synchronic analysis and knowledge of New Latin languages and their corresponding cultures transmit cultural values that contribute to the strengthening of the European identity. The programme is a novelty, it fortifies the Central European identity through interdisciplinary research and education of multilingualism, since the three New Latin languages has greatly influenced the cultures of the region. In the age of the dominance of the English language, the relationships between ‘smaller’ languages raise important questions in the field of theoretical linguistics, culture and education. The aim is to shed light on the direct links between the Mediterranean/Romance and Central European regions.

HU-1306-07-2425 - Confessional and ethnic interactions in the Habsburg Monarchy

The core concept of the network is connected to the cultural, religious and social history of the Habsburg Empire. The primary aim of the network is to support prospective researchers who are at the end of their bachelor's or master's degree in history or art history, or who are pursuing their PhD studies, by providing opportunities for research for their thesis or doctoral dissertation, and for local consultations. In addition, students participating in the mobility program can also meet and consult in person with professors and other colleagues working in the same field, thus strengthening professional cooperation and thus creating the foundations for a "Joint Thesis Supervision" program.

RO-0814-12-2425 - Red de Hispanistas de Europa Central

The aim of our network is to promote Hispanic and Latin-American Studies in our region of Europe and to increase their impact through a combination between teaching, research and networking. Our thematic focus is the sum of relationships of Central European spaces with the Spanish speaking area, studied from different points of view: cultural, linguistic, literary, etc.  We emphasize an interdisciplinary approach in all our activities and because we can also observe similar phenomena in these two parts of the world, we want to understand the common features and the distinctive nuances. A training in high-level research is very useful for any jobs students will have, that is why we promote the correlation between teaching and research. Teachers and students at every level are encouraged to collaborate for specific research and to participate in various colloquia and spring/summer schools, as well as being exposed to a multitude of approaches in the study  of Hispanic disciplines.
